WEEKLY NEWSLETTER - January 26th 2012
– what a busy term so far! This week some of the children attended the Cross Country event at Ratcliffe College. They had long distances to run and all did extremely well. In addition, the children in Class 3 experienced a squash taster session. Apparently there is some real talent out there!
Teacher in Training
From Monday we have a Trainee Teacher joining Year 1 for 6 weeks. Miss Dickens will be working closely with Mrs Price and Mrs Downton. I am sure that you will join me in welcoming her to the school.
FOSS
There will be a FOSS meeting on Tuesday at 2pm in school. All welcome!
Parents in School
I am actively seeking ideas of ways in which parents could get more involved in the life of the school. Do any of you have talents that we might be able to use? Please pop in and see me at any time.
Singing assembly
Please come and join us at 2.45pm on Tuesdays in Class 3!
Animals
Brooksby College are bringing some animals into school for the children to see next Thursday. They visited us last year and it was a great opportunity for the children to find out about them.
‘Men at Work’
A reminder that on Friday 23rd March we are inviting dads, uncles, granddads into school for the day to help the children make their eggmobiles in preparation for ‘The Great Egg Race’. An eggmobile is a vehicle designed to carry a creme egg from one end of the Village Hall to another. We will need donations of materials to make these, which can be brought into school from now onwards. In particular, the following items would be useful; wheels, balsa wood, cardboard containers, Lego and Knex. Thank you!
