WEEKLY NEWSLETTER - May 21st 2010
ECO Week
What a fantastic week it has been. It has been a real pleasure to see how well all the children have worked in their House Groups. They are all a credit to you. The activities planned by the teachers were great fun and loads of learning took place.
A big thank you to all involved and also to all the parents and Governors that came in to support us.
Friday Assembly
The assembly on Friday has been taken over by the children that went to Quorn Hall last week. Miss Bailey has been working very hard to put together all the photos to show this week in assembly. Please come along and have a look if you have the time.
Themed Week
A letter will be going out today to explain what is happening next week. We have got together with Redlands and Cossington Schools to plan activities based on the theme of Rainforests. The children will be mixing together and working in other schools. The purpose of this week is to give children the experience of working in situations that are not familiar to them but that are still safe. It also gives the teachers a chance to plan and work with colleagues in other schools.
It has been a very difficult week to plan and so a big thank you to all the teachers involved.
Cancer Research Race for Life
I know at least one child in the school is doing the Race for Life at Loughborough University on Saturday 12th June and so have decided to have a non-uniform day next Friday 28th May. We are asking for a voluntary donation of £1 and the proceeds will be split between any children that are taking part. Please let me know if your child is entering so that I can split the money evenly. Click here to visit their website.
Work Experience
How popular are we? Just to let you know we will have 4 work experience students joining us next week from Rawlins. They will be working with the children and getting a feel for what it is really like to work in a Primary School. Please say hello to them if they look a bit lost.
Half Term
Don’t forget that we break up for half term on 28th May and return on Monday 7th June.
