Welcome Back
Where did the Easter break go? Come to think of it, where has this year gone? Welcome back to the final term of this year.
Year 6 SATs
Year 6 SATs week will be the week commencing 10th May. As you may be aware there will not be a Science SAT this year but a teacher assessment will be submitted to County Hall.
The timetable for the assessments is as follows:
Monday 10th |
English Reading |
Tuesday 11th |
English Writing |
Wednesday 12th |
Mental Maths and Paper A Maths |
Thursday 13th |
Paper B maths |
It is really important that all Year 6’s are in on these days as the results from the tests go with the children to their next school.
If you have any questions about these tests please speak to Miss Spencer or myself.
Please remember that the tests are only an opportunity for the children to show us what they know and are not a life changing event!
Casual Dress Day
On the last day of term we had a casual dress day for Rainbows and, thanks to your generosity, we raised £84 !
Thank you.
English Inspection
We have had the letter from HMI from the English Inspection last term and we are all very pleased. Here are a couple of quotes from the report:
“Teachers have good subject knowledge and plan lessons thoroughly with clear objectives. Lessons are structured well and activities are matched closely to pupils’ needs. Pupils enjoy learning through drama and discussion and write with enthusiasm.”
“There is a very effective programme of intervention…”
“…teaching assistants provide effective support to small groups in lessons…”
“The subject leader has a clear vision for development based on review with teachers and a thorough audit of provision.”
“The school identifies Gifted and Talented pupils promptly and has a specific programme to cater for their needs. This is supported by a clear and effective policy.”
Well done to everyone.
Clubs
Club letters for this term will be out by the end of this week.
