Welcome to Foundation stage's page!
We would like to welcome you to the web page specially for the Foundation stage class. We will use this page to inform you of the activities the children will be involved in over the year and we will update it each week with our weekly Homework sheet and information about the following week. We will also post anything we feel is useful for you to support your child at home. A paper copy of the Homework sheet will also be sent home to you in a Homework folder every Friday. This will need to be returned to school by the following Wednesday so that we can look at any homework done and set the following weeks task ready to go out on the Friday.
We hope you and your children have had a great summer and are looking forward to an exciting first year at Seagrave. We are certainly excited about getting to know them all. Below we have put our class timetable and the themes we will be exploring throughout the year for your information. We have also included some other useful documents.
The topics for this half term will be -
Week 1 - Induction
Week 2 - All about me - my family
Week 3 - All about me - my school
Week 4 - Healthy me - "Oliver's vegetables"
Week 5 - Harvest - "The little red hen"
Week 6 & 7 - Autumn - "Percy the Park Keeper"
Our PE days are Tuesday and Wednesday. Please ensure your child has their kit in school on these days. We expect you to spend 5-10 minutes reading with your child each night. Sharing books is so beneficial to your child's reading development and well being. Also they will soon be bringing home words to practise reading by sight and alphabet letters.
If you would like to talk to any of the teachers in EYFS, then please don't hesitate to approach us at the beginning or end of the day. If you need a longer session then we will endeavor to find a mutually convenient time.
Please browse through the collection of photos below. These show last year's children having fun and learning inside and outside the classroom. We will soon be updating them with photos of your children!
Thank you for your support,
Mrs Chafer and Mrs Jarram.
