I hope you have all had a lovely half term break!
Our topic for Autumn Term 2 is 'Explorers’. This is a science and history based topic.
This term we will be writing character and setting descriptions. The children will also be writing letters and focusing on both fiction and non-fiction texts.
Phonics, spelling, punctuation and grammar are timetabled daily.
We continue to have a reading corner in the classroom for children to enjoy and create time to read books from a range of genres.

Please ensure that your child has P.E kit in school at all times. The afternoon P.E sessions are on a Tuesday and Friday afternoon.
I aim to encourage the children to use the role play inside the classroom.
Homework will be given out on a Friday to be bought back into school on a Wednesday. These will consist of spellings and Maths activities, which consolidate the weeks work. Please ensure that your child completes the work and gets the homework back on time.
Spelling tests will take place on a Friday. Spelling sheets must be bought back into school on a Friday.
It is an expectation the children read at home regularly.
Please complete your child’s reading journal if they have read at home.
A signature is needed from an adult to show this has been done.
Please also use the Reading Journals to communicate with me - I will read them daily and I am happy to help in anyway.
I aim to make the children’s KS1 journey enjoyable and fun.
Thank you for your continued support. I am very excited and look forward to the new term.
