Spring Term 2018
Our topic for this Term is Humans and Animals. This is a science based topic. We will be looking at our body, how well we need to look after it and what we can do to improve how it moves. We will also be looking at the food groups, different food chains of different animals and why food is so important to both humans and animals.
We will continue to have discrete grammar and punctuation lessons which will develop our writing.
Guided reading will take place weekly but will often be a whole class lesson.
We will be looking at plays and dialogues, myths and legends, stories from imagined worlds and finishing with language plays.
In Maths, we will work from the White Rose scheme of work. We will start the term by focusing on multiplication and division and we will then be moving onto measurement, length, perimeter and area and finishing the term with fractions.
Children will develop their reasoning and problem solving skills throughout these concepts.

The continuity of spellings and times tables weekly with occasional other relevant research as the weeks materialise.
It is an expectation that children read every night and fill in their own diary entries.
A signature is needed from an adult to show this has been done. Children will stay in and read at break time if not signed.
Please can you make sure that you encourage your child to do homework, read regularly and have any equipment they need in school at the correct times.
